I have listed some of my birds for pre-sale. What I would like to know is - Is there any option to indicate in my listing that I require a deposit/advance payment? It would really helpful if you can automatically alert the buyers that I need a deposit immediately after a buyer wins an auction.

I think this would be a great feature for this auction site because sellers like me can hold the birds for the buyer until weather is favorable for shipping, thus ensuring seller protection.

Thank you for your valuable suggestion. This is infact a great feature that would enhance our auction site - www.frankstrade.com. We have introduced this option.

While listing an item for presale, seller can indicate if the deposit amount required or not.

1. Login and go to 'Sell'.

2. Tick the checkbox - Is it a presale?

3. Click on the radiobutton 'Yes'.

4. Choose the Deposit Amount. Here, specify how much percentage of the total item price you would require as the deposit amount.

When a user wins an auction, buyer will get a mail where he is intimated that seller requires a deposit payment. If a user uses the 'Buy Now' option, then he would get the alert message immediately in the next screens.

Steps to pay deposit amount-

Buyers can pay the advance amount either via PayPal through www.frankstrade.com or by direct payment, that is, by cash, money order etc.

If the buyer makes direct payment, sellers can ‘Mark Deposit Payment’ as paid. For this, sellers should do the following steps:

1. Login and go to ‘My Account > Sold’.
2. Go to the tab ‘Awaiting deposit’.
3. Go to ‘Order details’ of the particular item.
4. Enter the ‘Deposit Payment Received On’ date and click on the button ‘Mark as Deposit Paid’.

If the buyer wishes to make the advance payment via PayPal, buyer should do the following steps:

Step 1:

If the buyer purchased the item using the ‘Buy Now’ option, the buyer can either pay deposit via paypal from purchase confirmation screen or can request for the total price include shipping.

Step 2:

For the buyers who purchased the item by any method such as bid/offer/buy now, they can pay the deposit amount from the purchased screen. For this,

1. Login and go to ‘My Account > Purchased’.
2. Click on ‘Pay Deposit’ to pay advance amount or click on ‘Pay Now’ for paying full amount against the particular item.

Buyers can also make payment from the order details. For this,

1. Login and go to ‘My Account > Purchased’.
2. Click on the ‘Order details’ against the particular item.
3. Click on the button ‘Pay Deposit Now’ to make advance payment or click on ‘Pay Now’ to make full payment.
