I have a female pintail with a slight wing fracture which is not much of a concern. She is currently in a pen outdoors with grass in it and small storage bin for her to float in. My concern is about her feed. She is not eating anything and what should I feed her to keep her going?

Your advice would be much appreciated.

I would suggest some mazuri for her. I think this is the best you can get from a feed store.

Yes, Mazuri Waterfowl Maitenance is great for wild waterfowl and my ducks love it!

If you get the feed you could put a handful of the mazuri feed in the pintail's water.  The food will float which is really great.

What I would like to say is you should spread the food out on the ground and also put some in her water in the storage bin to get eat. Also it really helps her to have ducks with her of any kind. She will see them feeding and usually join in. I had domestics to put them with.Mazuri makes a  floating maintanence food that is great. If your store can get it, hope this helps.

Thanks for the great advice everyone.I have a pair of call ducks aroud her size and I think she can hang out with the call ducks. So she can at least see and hear them. Might help her feel less nervous and alone.

Yes, that would be a better option.
