Hello, just wondering if incubators can hatch eggs from different bird species at the same time?

For instance - duck and chicken eggs, duck and pheasant eggs, different duck eggs like mallard and call, etc.

Yes you can but they will have different hatching times and stop turning times. Some may have different humidity needs. Good Luck.

you can do several duck eggs because with the exception of muscovy ducks, the humidity and hatch times will be the same..and the temp..muscovy takes 35 days..other ducks 28.  I wouldn't advise chicken and other species because if the temperature and humidity vary greatly you won'd have a very good hatch rate.

How about incubating pheasant eggs and duck eggs together? Do they have same incubating days? How about humidity and temp level? If anyone can shed light on this, it would be nice.

actually those two species you can.  The temp for both is 99.5 and the humidity about 60 percent.  the only difference depends on they type of pheasant.  The ringneck pheasant takes 24 or 25 days so will hatch a couple days before the ducks..some of the other types of pheasant though have about the same time period as the ducks.  You should be fine with these two types of eggs in the same incubator.

This is what I found in another site regarding incubation period. Hope this helps!!


"The incubation period for chicken eggs is 21 days. The incubation period for duck eggs varies according to breed. However, most domestic duck breeds hatch in 28 days. Call duck eggs, on the other hand, require only 26 days to hatch. Mandarin and wood duck eggs require 30 days to hatch. Muscovy duck eggs requires 35 days to hatch. Most pheasant eggs hatch within 22 to 24 days. For instance, the eggs of the golden pheasant and its mutations require 23 days to hatch."
