Can you candle at day 4 like normal duck eggs? shicks0211   mandarin eggs Registered Member Posts: Joined: 08-27-12 09:05 AM   Reply #: 1 Posted on: 04-19-13 09:06 AM These eggs are touchier than other breeds for some reason..i usually wait about 6 or 7 days..candle them when i have to open the bator to add water to check for fertility and see which ones are duds.  then i don't candle again for another 5 days or so..i also put call duck eggs in to hatch at the same time so that when they hatch the call ducklings will teach the mandarins to eat.
