My gosh, You again!!!LOL. I was in the same predicament you are in with 101 questions. I am only to happy to help. My silkies started laying at about 16 weeks. They are not great layers but make up for it in their personalities. have one that went all over with me until she went broody. I bought her a (flight suit) diaper and she even went to the DR, grocery store etc with me, much like a dog! If you have many more questions you can PM me and I will give you my phone number. My best to you and Good Luck. |

Yeah annemarie. It's me again!! I am in so much of a dilemma.. Good that I found someone like you in this forum.. These chicks are really splendid to watch.... I gave them food from a container, and I made that sound "ChickchickchickchickCHICKIES!" to draw their attention, they all came running to me...But then there seemed to be something like a 'me first' kinda thing happen... I was so confused at first. Later on, i realised, one of the chicks was dominant over the others and wouldn't let others have food..... I was wondering if there is something like a 'pecking order'? Have you ever seen such a scene at your place? Except this fighting over food, there seems to be unity among these chicks..... friendly greetings lol.... |

They certainly do have a pecking order. I think that's where the term "pecking order" came from! |
