      Well it's that time of year again... kids are back in school and 4 H projects are the subject of conversation. I have 3 hens. They are from the Holderread Conseratory which is the best known conseratory in the US for waterfowl. Mr Holderread has written books on several breeds and has judged several breeds. My favorites are the Welsh Harlequin. They are the priemer eggs layers laying between 325 to 340 eggs per year. These hens lay almost every day. Purchased in June of 2011 from Holderreads top quality show winning stock, they have already been successful at nesting and raising a flock. I was selling eggs on eBay for $15 for 6 or $25 a dozen and they paid for shipping. Now I have a waiting list. Sadly a fox got my male. So now I either have to find a top show quality drake for the females or sell the females. These are excellent show quality hens. I originally purchased a dozen Harlequins and these are the best of 12. They could take turns winning. Two are almost identical with the third a little lighter in color. All have the rich black legs and bills. Good conformation and excellent heads.

      If interested I am selling them individually for $25 each or as a group for $60. They lay best in a group as they are a herd animal and do best around those they are familiar with. Plus if you buy the group I will give you my eBay waiting list for hatching eggs. 3 sales would more than pay for the hens.
